“More tea vicar?”

“More tea vicar?”

We sometimes focus too much on biscotti and coffee and forget how well tea and biscotti pair. Click here to learn more about the language of tea.

High Point Furniture Market Highlight

Nov 13, 2015 7:05:03 AM

Looks like our mini biscotti was a hit at the High Point Furniture Market!

"Uttermost coffee & biscotti station was a hit during the High Point Home Furnishings Fall, October market 2015. The 4 flavors were wonderful and fresh. The gluten free addition was unexpected and impressed our gluten sensitive guests. Thank you so much for the individual attention and helping us make our market experience unique & special."

Real White Chocolate vs Candy Coating

Oct 12, 2015 10:48:12 AM

Had a conversation the other day with someone about white chocolate. While it really isn't a chocolate, the FDA has strict guidelines on what can and cannot be called white chocolate which "must have at least 20% cocoa butter, 14% milk solids, and 3.5 % milk fat."

Also, white chocolate isn't truly white. Real (aka good) white chocolate will be more ivory in color than white. Do you know how they get the white color - titanium dioxide - "a naturally occurring mineral used as a bright white pigment for paint, in the food industry as a coloring, in sunscreens and cosmetics." Mmm - sounds tasty.

So what does this mean to you? Read the label! Know what you buying - don't pay top dollar for a white candy coating claiming to be white chocolate.

More importantly, know what you are eating. At Biscotti Goddess, we use real white chocolate and always will. (picture taken from saveur.com)

Are you "pumpkin-spiced" out?

Jul 16, 2015 8:50:25 PM

Since Halloween merchandise is showing up in the store, I can ask this question with only a little bit of self-contempt (I think Halloween shouldn't show up until September!).

We are thinking about changing some of the seasonal flavors of our biscotti. Everybody seems to have something that is Pumpkin Spice (although ours is actually make with real pumpkin - take that Starbucks!).

Would you like something different? What flavor makes reminds you of Fall?

What is in blended coffee drinks?

Mar 27, 2015 1:58:22 PM

In 1994, Starbucks paid $23 million for the Frappuccino name. In 2011, it accounted for 20% of total sales or $2 billion dollars. (Boston Magazine)

Sounds like people don't care it is made with powdered coffee.

What’s really in your blended coffee drink? Powdered coffee!

Spam Busting!

Jan 6, 2015 11:33:10 AM

I guess we should consider it a compliment that spammers believe Biscotti Goddess is big enough where they try to post bogus 3rd party product information in our comments/feedback sections on the website.

We easily blocked the spam but now are blocking bogus customer email addresses.

As a result, new customers will now get a required "confirmation email" when you create an account.  It won't stop the spam but should make it a little hard for them to post garbage.
