I'm not a robot

Jul 3, 2015 10:04:42 AM

We updated the Contact Us captcha to the new Google version.  Instead of having to read garbled text, just click the check box.  If Google can confirm you are human, then you don't have to do anything else.  If Google isn't sure, you will be asked to pick 3 pictures that match a theme - find the cakes, find the ice cream, etc.

Isn't technology wonderful?

What is in blended coffee drinks?

Mar 27, 2015 1:58:22 PM

In 1994, Starbucks paid $23 million for the Frappuccino name. In 2011, it accounted for 20% of total sales or $2 billion dollars. (Boston Magazine)

Sounds like people don't care it is made with powdered coffee.

What’s really in your blended coffee drink? Powdered coffee!

Spam Busting!

Jan 6, 2015 11:33:10 AM

I guess we should consider it a compliment that spammers believe Biscotti Goddess is big enough where they try to post bogus 3rd party product information in our comments/feedback sections on the website.

We easily blocked the spam but now are blocking bogus customer email addresses.

As a result, new customers will now get a required "confirmation email" when you create an account.  It won't stop the spam but should make it a little hard for them to post garbage.

Keurig Mini Plus Recall

Dec 23, 2014 10:39:27 AM

From the Associated Press:

WASHINGTON — Keurig is recalling some 7 million of single-serve coffee brewing machines because of reported burns.

Keurig says its Mini Plus Brewing Systems, with model number K10, can overheat and spray water during brewing. Keurig says it had received about 200 reports of hot liquid escaping from the brewer, including 90 reports of burn-related injuries.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released details on the recall Tuesday. The recalled brewers have an identification number starting with "31" printed on the bottom. They were sold online and in stores in the U.S. and Canada between 2009 and 2014.

Consumers are being urged to call Keurig Green Mountain Inc. of Waterbury, Vermont, at 1-844-255-7886 to arrange for free repair.

UPS and FedEx rates change for 2015

Dec 16, 2014 6:29:01 PM

FedEx and UPS My Choice are changing their rate calculation for ground shipping from weight to dimensions.  This can have a significant impact on light products such as biscotti.  For example, a 12x12x18 box of biscotti can weigh about 12 lbs.  However, FedEx will use 19 lbs to calculate the rate.

The UPS rate change takes affect 12/29 and FedEx implements it on 1/1.

More information about the rate change is available at http://news.van.fedex.com/fedex-announces-pricing-changes

Almond prices rising

Dec 8, 2014 10:44:32 AM

As some of you have found out, the price of almonds has gone way up.  We recently switched from slivered almonds in our biscotti to whole almonds to keep the costs down.  The flavor is still great but the sticks look a little different.  If you prefer the slivered almonds, let us know.
